Esther Baron came to this country from Warsaw on a boat by herself when she was 16 years old. Her maiden name was
Olishefsky. Where or when she met Alex Baron no one ever said.

Allegedly, the brass candlesticks that Nana used on some holiday occasions were the only things of value that came with her. However, an antique dealer in the Lancaster area told Barry and Susan that they were made at another time and place. No one knows for sure, and I suppose the traditional version makes for better family history.
